Our Story - Two hearts, one passion â and a shared dream.
We, Alex and Nadine, grew up in Frankfurt am Main â our roots couldnât be more different, yet they complement each other perfectly. Alexâs mother comes from Kalamata in southern Greece; Nadine is German â but from the very start, we were united by our love of Greek culture, cooking, and genuine hospitality.
In 2024, we fell in love on Crete â not only with each other, but also with a special place: the restaurant Meraki. We got married there â and on our wedding day, we decided to make that place our new home. From a moment of the heart came a life decision: we took over Meraki â and have run it ever since with the very same passion that binds us.
Today, weâre living our dream â as a couple, as hosts, and as people who put their whole heart into everything they do.

Alex at the Grill â with fire, skill, and passion.
When Alex fires up the grill, traditional Greek grilling meets modern creativity. With passion and precision, he grills meat to perfection â crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, bursting with flavor.
Inspired by the aromas of Greece and guided by a keen sense of quality, he brings classics like lamb chops, tomahawk steaks, juicy burgers, and freshly grilled fish to your plate â all sourced locally, cooked over an open flame, and rich in Mediterranean character.
He rounds everything off with homemade sauces, from refined barbecue blends to Mediterranean dips, each perfectly matched to meat, fish, and sides. Typical Greek ingredients like olive oil, lemon, fresh herbs, and spices give every bite the authentic taste of our homeland â with a modern twist.

Nadine cooks with heart, soul, and plenty of Meraki.
Her dishes are a tribute to traditional Greek home cookingâhonest, aromatic, and prepared with genuine devotion. Whether itâs moussaka, tzatziki, eggplant spread, fasolakia (green beans in tomato sauce), or perfectly balanced mezedes, everything is made with care, traditional spices, and an instinct for authentic flavor.
What Nadine brings to the table is more than just good food. Itâs memories, emotions, and joie de vivreâshaped by Greek tradition and open to modern influences. This is how creative interpretations arise that honor the old while welcoming the new.
